Courses can be delivered either In House or NPORS accredited. All courses are up to 5 Days Dependent on experience. 

Should you operate forklift trucks you will be aware that all drivers need to be properly trained and certified. This is not as costly or as time consuming as you might think. JJ Training (UK) offers two services: Trainees can attend our training facility Our fully qualified assessors and trainers can visit the trainee’s place of work for site specific training JJ Training(UK) Limited provides fully accredited operator training for novices and experienced operators on all makes and models of fork lift trucks as well as providing conversion (from other truck type) and refresher training.

Basic Operators (Novice)

This course is for anyone wishing to learn to drive a Forklift truck without any prior experience.

Duration: 5 Days

Conversion Training
If you already hold a licence for a counterbalance truck or reach truck and would like to obtain certification for another Forklift Truck, then this course is designed for you.Duration: 1 Day

 

Experienced Operator
This course is for those who already have experience driving a forklift truck, but don’t yet hold the necessary certificationDuration: 3 Days

 

Course Objectives

It is envisaged that by the end of this Fork Lift Truck Training Course the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

  • Have a basic understanding of the Industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a Plant Operator
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
  • Be able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their fucntions
  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
  • Safely mount and dismount the machine
  • Start and stop the engine and safely move the machine off and stop it safely
  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely laden and unladen, in ope and confined areas
  • Conduct all necessary safetly checks at the work area
  • Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out lifting and load handling tasks 
  • Carry out lifting and load handling tasks
  • Lift and transfer loads accurately and safely at different locations
  • Load and unload external transport safely
  • Fit, adjust and or remove attachments
  • Demonstrate knowledge ad understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine trasnportation
  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
